Christian Ethics: Questions, Challenges, and Approaches

Catalog description

This course considers the relationship between Christian traditions, moral action, and politics. How do Christian traditions shape the ways that Christians think about and respond to various moral challenges facing our world today? How might our personal and communal experiences and new forms of knowledge challenge certain aspects of the Christian tradition? How do faith and public life, ethics and politics intersect? To answer these questions, we will engage different methods and sources of Christian ethics in conversation with varied voices and a range of complex social issues, such as migration, the climate crisis, poverty, violence, sex and gender, and racism.
