Catalog description

A survey of fundamental concepts in phonology and phonetics so that the students will be able to describe the primary characteristics of the Spanish sound system, how Spanish phonology differs from English, and ways in which some Spanish accents differ from each other. Also discussed are how such concepts can be used to improve the pronunciation and listening comprehension of students of Spanish, students’ appreciation of dialectical variation, and one’s own control over Spanish pronunciation.
