Catalog description

Horacio Quiroga stated that “as long as the human language is our preferred vehicle of expression, man will always make stories, because the short story is the one natural, normal and irreplaceable form of storytelling”. We explore short stories as both an opportunity for textual analysis --with story structure and key elements of storytelling at the forefront-- as well as an invitation to study the historical and social context in which they were written. In this course we will explore the possibilities of reading these stories for pleasure while also refining our critical reading skills in Spanish. Taught in Spanish.
