Catalog description
This course explores the role of big data in society, focusing on spatial data and its quantitative applications. Students will gain practical skills in Python and QGIS to collect, manage, analyze, and visualize spatial data. Through a combination of technical training and critical social inquiry, students will also engage with the ethical, political, and social dimensions of data science. By the end of the course, students will be equipped to analyze quantitative information, draw reasoned conclusions, and communicate insights effectively in spatial data science.
