This course explores the art, science, and ethics of mapmaking with a strong focus on social justice, equity, and ethical communication. Students learn foundational cartographic principles while engaging with ethical design considerations, critical analysis, and persuasive writing. Through lab assignments and a culminating project, students develop skills in mapping software and create visual narratives that advocate for human dignity and social equity.
