Catalog description

A detailed examination of the anatomy & physiology of the speech production, hearing, and swallowing mechanisms with a particular focus on the structure and function of the subsystems of respiration, phonation, articulation, and swallowing. The relation of anatomy and physiology to common pathophysiologies will also be highlighted. This course will serve as an important foundation for the future course work in speech-language pathology and related fields.
