Catalog description

Busy rotation on an established Acute Care Surgery service, running in conjunction with Trauma at a level 1 center. OBJECTIVES: 1. Identify the signs and symptoms of common acute general surgical disease processes. 2.Gather and present pertinent historical, physical exam, imaging and laboratory data pertaining to assigned patients and formulate a rational differential diagnosis from the workup. 3. Monitor and identify those patients at risk for post operative complications and implement appropriate preventive management if possible. 4. Suggest care plans for routine post operative care.
