Catalog description

Students will develop their ability to analyze global digital communities and state-backed information (and disinformation) digital resources as they examine diverse media focused on both historical and contemporary periods in Russian and develop their ability to express their critical thinking in Russian. The development of reading skills with a study of participles, comparative structures, interconnected sentences, and content analysis is a focus of the course. The course will address the Communities and Cultures components of the ACTFL World Readiness Standards in an examination of state-sponsored media, geographical landscapes, and the on-line presence of individuals of influence.
