PG 3020
Eloquent Communication in Portuguese
Saint Louis University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
Students continue to develop their fluent oral and written expression through communicative activities that focus on listening comprehension, structural accuracy, and a systematic approach to vocabulary expansion. Students raise their proficiency in Portuguese to a B2.2, Advanced Mid or even an Advanced High level, according to the CEFR and ACTFL framework references. The course structure is organized into thematic units, each of which covers specific vocabulary essential for communication in real-life situations, corresponding to the high intermediate and pre-advanced level. Both written and oral production plays a central role in the course, promoting the development of discursive quality through structured exercises and the drafting of more complex texts, with a view to initial preparation for the Portuguese language proficiency exam.
