Catalog description

The Elective involves active participation in outpatient clinics, inpatient service/consults, and exposure to the cardiac cath lab in one week blocks. The 4th week of the elective is independent study where you will be responsible for creating a power point presentation on a topic in pediatric cardiology suited to fellow learners. You will have supervision and teaching in topics such as interpretation of electrocardiograms, auscultation of murmurs, and cardiac physiology. You may also have the opportunity to observe other diagnostic testing such as Holter monitoring, exercise testing and echocardiograms.
