This course empowers Physician Assistants at all stages of their careers—new graduates, seasoned clinicians, and PA educators—to develop and refine the leadership skills essential for today’s complex healthcare environment. Designed as part of the Doctor of Medical Science (DMS) curriculum, this course provides a flexible and inclusive approach to leadership development, addressing the unique perspectives and goals of emerging and established PA leaders. Students will explore core leadership theories, strategic communication, change management, and organizational dynamics with practical applications in clinical, academic, and administrative settings. The curriculum emphasizes emotional intelligence, equity-centered leadership, and evidence-based strategies for leading interprofessional teams, shaping policy, and improving systems of care. Through reflective practice, interactive case studies, and collaborative projects, learners will strengthen their ability to lead ethically, influence outcomes, and drive innovation—whether at the bedside, in the classroom, or within healthcare systems.
