Orthopedic Hand Surgery

Catalog description

This fourth-year clinical elective in Orthopedic Hand Surgery provides senior medical students with intensive exposure to the evaluation and management of disorders of the hand, wrist, and forearm. Students will participate in outpatient clinics, operating rooms, and inpatient consultations, gaining experience with traumatic, degenerative, inflammatory, congenital, and compressive conditions affecting the upper extremity. Emphasis is placed on clinical reasoning, functional anatomy, radiographic interpretation, and the principles of operative and non-operative management.
