Catalog description

This fourth-year medical school elective provides advanced clinical exposure to the evaluation, surgical management, and postoperative care of patients undergoing joint reconstruction and replacement procedures. Students will participate in outpatient clinics, inpatient rounds, and operative cases involving hip, knee, and shoulder arthroplasty. Emphasis is placed on integrating anatomical knowledge, surgical principles, and evidence-based decision-making to optimize patient outcomes. Students will develop skills in preoperative assessment, implant selection, and postoperative rehabilitation planning while considering ethical and economic aspects of joint replacement.
