Perinatal Addiction and Maternal Mental Health (PRAM2 Health) Elective

Catalog description
The rotation will involve outpatient and inpatient care of pregnant and postpartum women with substance use disorder (SUD), outpatient care of pregnant women with mood disorders as well as an introduction to principles of management of neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) as it pertains neonates born to mothers with SUD in pregnancy. Outpatient care will be provided through the SSM Health – Women and Infant Substance Help (WISH) Center (under the supervision of Dr. Chavan) as well as through the Maternal and Fetal Care Center (MFCC) (under supervision of Dr. Mathews). Inpatient care will be provided for patients with SUD admitted to the inpatient antepartum service - under the supervision of Dr. Chavan.
