Catalog description

Movement Disorders is a subspecialty of Neurology. These disorders are characterized by abnormal involuntary movements like tremors, Parkinson's disease, dystonia, myoclonus, ataxia. Observing, recognizing thse disorders and their unique treatments is an amazing learning experience for medical students and residents. The elective offers an opportunity to observe deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery and later programming DBS in clinic. The elective also provides an opportunity to observe and learn the procedure o EMG guided Botulinum toxin injection for dystonia and spasticity.
