Reflection Seminar: Ensembles

Catalog description

Reflecting on their concurrent enrollment in a SLU ensemble, students consider questions related to the works being prepared in their ensembles by: 1) exploring and reflecting on the historical and cultural context of the work and how the power of artistic choice and expression shape our understanding and connection to it and to others, and 2) developing skills that lead to an eloquent articulation of the intrinsic relationship between music and emotion and why it is important to each of us personally and societally. Concurrent enrollment in a music ensemble is required.
