Catalog description

Fourth year students will enroll in this course during the summer of their fourth year, facilitated by leaders from the Rodney M. Coe program, who will make the mentor-mentee pairings. Student mentors will attend a mandatory orientation session to the program during the late summer of their fourth year, which will include an overview of the program and training materials on being a mentor. Over the course of the year there will be 8 required sessions (with content developed and provided to be delivered) for mentor-mentee meetings, coordinated by the course director and the leaders from the Coe program. It is the expectation that mentors will meet with mentees for at minimum 20 hours over the course of the academic year, with hours documented and turned in to Dr. Sutherell to receive credit for the course.
