Catalog description
This course is designed to further advance the development of collaboration-ready health professionals prepared to improve community and population health outcomes. It starts with the belief that every student in this course is intelligent, curious, and committed to service and supporting under-resourced communities as part of your professional practice. This is an applied practicum course in which student utilize previous IPE knowledge and skills in a community health setting, applying a service-learning model to achieve two primary goals: 1) to demonstrate effective interprofessional collaborative practice behaviors to address community & population health, and 2) to collaborate and learn about, from, and with a community health or social services agency to improve health or promote wellness among their target population. Students will be grouped into IP teams of five or six students and assigned to IPE-Community Partner Agencies.
