Listening & Speaking Level 4: High Intermediate

Catalog description

This high intermediate-level course refines the skills and strategies students needed to deliver academic presentations and participate in university-level courses. Students learn techniques for organizing and delivering a variety of presentations using academic vocabulary and themes from other Level 4 courses and also develop note-taking strategies that promote active listening and recall in lecture- and discussion-based classes. Students listen to and speak about common Level 4 themes in informal classroom discussions. Students will also participate in a conversation partnership with domestic students, implementing self-guided strategies for improving their communication skills. Prerequiste: 2.50 semester GPA in Level 3 or equivalent.
