Catalog description

Prepare doctoral scholars to achieve advanced competency in health policy analysis by integrating theory, method, and application. The course cultivates expertise in selecting and applying analytic frameworks; designing and evaluating policy interventions (including causal and economic evaluation approaches); assessing political, ethical, and administrative feasibility; and translating evidence into decision-relevant products and persuasive strategies. It also explicitly provides the expertise and tools needed for policy development, advocacy, and evaluation. In doing so, the course offers a rigorous, systems-level examination of U.S. health care and policy architectures. It equips students with the conceptual foundations, technical toolkits, and strategic acumen necessary to navigate—and shape—the contemporary health policy landscape.
