Catalog description

This course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of personal finance, focusing on long-term wealth-building strategies and the integration of charitable giving. Students will learn essential financial concepts such as budgeting, credit management, investing, and retirement planning, with an emphasis on low-cost index funds and IRAs. Drawing on Ignatian values, the course encourages students to reflect on how financial success can be leveraged for social good, empowering them to become responsible stewards of their wealth and active contributors to their communities. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the tools to manage their finances, invest wisely, and establish a plan for lifelong charitable giving, all while embracing the Jesuit principles of cura personalis, magis, and solidarity.
