Catalog description
Wilderness Medicine is a 2-week non-direct patient care elective that teaches the practice of medicine in the wilderness and other resource limited settings. Specific clinical skills that students will learn include first aid, rapid clinical assessments, stabilization and field-expedient definitive care. Course features include lectures, hands-on practical sessions, skills labs, field trips and an overnight camping trip. DISCLAIMER: This course is subject to change according to weather and other external factors. If the enrollment for this course does not meet the required number of 6 students, the section will be canceled.
