Catalog description

Students will learn the application of and interpretation of electrocardiograms in Emergency Medicine by learning a systematic approach to analysis with appropriate clinical correlation. The students will have four 1 hour-long lectures and assigned readings. The course will review the basic fundamental principals of electrocardiography. Furthermore, students will demonstrate the ability to obtain 50 electrocardiograms from emergency department patients, as well as the ability to place patients on continuous electrocardiography. Students will have to complete a 50-question pre and post test, in addition, based upon assigned reading assignments.
