Catalog description

This study abroad course immerses students in Taiwan as a key site for exploring the cultural, linguistic, social, and political dimensions of the Sinophone world. Students will study topics such as language and identity, cultural production, historical memory, international relations, and social change, while also taking Chinese language classes at a partner university. Combining classroom study with field experiences, the course offers students the opportunity to conduct individual research projects that explore Taiwan’s multilingual environment, cultural practices, and contemporary society.
