Catalog description
A laboratory to teach basic techniques used in cell biology research. The course emphasizes foundational concepts in cell biology. Techniques taught may include: use of bright-field and fluorescence microscopy to visualize cells and subcellular structures, SDS-PAGE gels and western blots to analyze cell protein content, basic cell culture techniques, and flow cytometry to measure cell death and cell proliferation.
