Biology: Self and Community

Catalog description

This course will prepare first-year biology students for a successful transition to college, the SLU community, and the biology major. The course introduces students to the Jesuit mission of Saint Louis University; issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion; health and wellness resources, and exposure to St. Louis history and the city itself. The course also builds community among biology majors by introducing them to skills to help them be successful in their introductory science courses, learning about engagement opportunities within the biology department, career opportunities in biology, and the biology curriculum.
