Catalog description

This course is an advanced practice class that is required in the clinical social work concentration. It may also be of interest to students in other clinical fields of practice. The course provides an overview of mental health assessment and diagnostic tools, including the Diagnostic Statistical Manual diagnostic categories, and touches on treatment strategies and techniques. Particular attention is paid to the relationship between the social environment and cultural influences and emotional and mental health.
