Catalog description

Each year a seminar will be designed around a 400 level offering in one of the following five fields of theological study: Biblical, Ecumenical, Moral, Spiritual and Systematic (Historical) Theology. It will be designed to require depth and breadth of research for the theology/religion major. A 20-25 page research paper will act as the major evaluative factor and the results will be presented b y the students on Academic Excellence Day, or to two or three designated faculty. Students must be in their senior year and have completed first tier offering of PHI 101-The Quest for Wisdom and second tier offering REL 123-Foundations of Christian Faith or REL 124-Introduction to the Old Testament or REL 201-Introduction to the New Testament or REL 223-Religions of the World I: Western and the third tier offering of a 300 or 400 level religion course from one of the five fold fields of theology/religious studies which include Moral Theology and Ethics, Biblical Studies, Systematic or Historical Theology, Ecumenical Studies, Spirituality.
