Catalog description
This course focuses on the fundamental concepts, principles, and applications of psychological testing. Learners will gain a basic understanding of the construction of tests as well as psychometric properties of tests. Students will be introduced to the ethical use of psychological instruments in a variety of professional and academic settings. Students will be introduced to test use for intellectual assessment, achievement, aptitude testing, measures of personality and psychopathology, forensic assessment and the use of psychological assessments in the corporate and military environments. Theoretical assumptions of the various tests as well as diversity issues will also be explored in detail.
