Catalog description

This course exposes budding humanities scholars and educators to the practical capabilities of digital tools with introductory lectures and a digital lab component. One important element of the course is its focus on the ethics of digital humanities projects, such as forensic genealogy projects which have serious implications for personal privacy. The course's primary focus will be the ways that digital tools overcome the economic, racial, and gender biases that plague traditional humanities methods.
