Catalog description
Learning to write effectively is dependent on the writer's understanding of rhetorical context. This course teaches students how to analyze and study the writings of others as readers and writers. It emphasizes experience with writing based activities, with writing processes, and writing conventions that different groups of people agree on to accomplish specific objectives, tasks, goals. English 121 prepares students to use writing and rhetoric in their college career, in their professional careers, and in their lives. To ensure related competencies in oral communication, a speech component is included.
