Catalog description

Educational Leadership students are required to complete a supervised practicum (120 hours) in a preK-12 school setting that serves the needs of all students. This course serves as the culmination of the fieldwork hours that students began gathering in EDU-551 and submitted for review in EDU-661. During this course, students will build leadership expertise in order to cultivate, support, and develop other school leaders to promote the academic success and well-being of all student, develop and support open, productive, caring, and trusting working relationships among school and teacher leaders to build professional capacity and improve instructional practice driven by standards aligned content, collaborate with the school principal to cultivate a group of emerging teacher leaders, develop capacity in teacher leaders and hold them accountable and plan for and provide opportunities for mentoring new personnel. This course addresses the Florida Educational Leadership Standard 7 (a-d).
