Catalog description

This course will concentrate on the four descriptors under the Florida Educational Leadership Standards (FELS), standard 5 Learning Environment by examining and applying best practices in creating a learning environment that cultivates a caring, rigorous and supportive school community. In addition, students will engage in practicum field experiences to apply best practices across all of the FELS. The field experience review begins with this course and is concluded in EDU-678 as the student documents a minimum of 120 hours to demonstrate mastery of the required FELS descriptors. The student is responsible for securing his/her mentor (high performing principal or experienced assistant principal), and necessary participation agreements.
