Catalog description
This course develops a deeper understanding of various types of data used in school settings, how that data are interpreted to positively impact classroom instruction and how the results are communicated to parents, students and other community stakeholders. This course addresses summative and formative assessments; examines the connection between content standards, assessment, and instruction; and explores a wide range of progress monitoring tools that are available for use at the local, regional and national levels for continuous improvement. Finally, it examines the leader's role in setting a course for school reform and improvement using instructional decisions that are driven by data. This course specifically addresses the Florida Educational Leadership standard 4. The assignments in this course include an embedded fieldwork component.
