Dissertation Seminar
Saint Leo University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This course serves as the formal gateway to doctoral candidacy. It is designed to guide doctoral students through the structured development of a rigorous, scholarly, and research-oriented dissertation proposal. Students will refine their research problem, construct a literature review, articulate a theoretical framework, and explain a methodologically sound research plan appropriate for doctoral-level inquiry. The resulting proposal should demonstrate the students' readiness to conduct independent, original research that contributes to business knowledge and practice. The dissertation proposal produced in this course will serve as the foundation for the students' dissertation research and subsequent defense. Successful completion requires faculty approval of a fully integrated research proposal demonstrating readiness for dissertation execution and institutional review processes.
