Catalog description
Since at least the seventeenth century, Catholic ethicists have regularly written major treatises on issues in biomedical ethics. Recently, however, several Protestant authors have made significant contributions to the burgeoning literature of biomedical ethics. This course will study selected Catholic and Protestant authors who have made lasting contributions to this field of study. In addition, this course will focus on several concrete issues: Abortion, Treatment Decisions for Handicapped Newborns, Active Euthanasia, Allowing to Die, Organ Transplantation and HIV/AIDS.
