Catalog description

This course is designed to engage students in the application of research skills to co-construct knowledge with clients and communities as part of their ethical commitment to inform and improve social work practice and programs. Students will propose and implement program evaluation methods that measure treatment outcomes or processes. Students will collect and analyze data from their practicum site to advance social work approaches and enhance organizational policies. Anti-racist and anti-oppressive practices in research procedures will be emphasized, including participatory and constructivist approaches. Students will learn how to use open source software to analyze quantitative and qualitative data as they evaluate their practice and social programs.
