Catalog description

This course will serve as an introduction to audiology, giving students the knowledge to provide accurate information to families and other professionals regarding hearing loss. Course information includes the development of the auditory system, etiology of hearing loss, and hearing assessment practices. Exploration of assistive listening devices and the impact of hearing loss on children will also be included in this course. This course covers prerequisite content required for students to obtain a graduate degree in deaf education. No previous knowledge of audiology is required.
