Catalog description

This course builds on the foundations of the tools of analysis introduced in Introduction to Global Politics and explores more advanced theoretical approaches and empirical cases of cooperation and conflict in the international system. Concretely, the course examines questions of security, political and economic integration, and contemporary polemics like migration and trade through the lens of political geography and global geopolitics. Critical focus is placed on the international system, sovereignty, globalization, territoriality, and governance at various scales - e.g., global, international, national - and in various world regions.
