Catalog description
This graduate/doctoral course offers students an applied learning experience within professional environments connected to pharmaceutical sciences. Approved internship sites may include sites related to research, regulatory/medical writing, forensic, analytical, cosmetics, clinical research, quality control, bionaking, cell gene or other settings that support the academic and career objectives of the discipline of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The internship emphasizes experiential learning, professional conduct, and the integration of classroom knowledge with real-world practice. Permission to take an internship must be obtained by chair and/or vice chair of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department prior to beginning the internship. Students can choose (0–3 credits) upon discussion with their advisors and the departmental chair based on the nature and academic expectations of the internship, as determined by the department. Academic oversight includes defined learning outcomes and evaluation mechanisms established by the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department. Enrollment for internship credit requires prior approval and must be secured before the internship begins. Authorization of the Chair of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department is required for all internships without any exceptions.
