This course explores the physiological, psychological, and social effects of chronic illness and palliative care across the lifespan, with an emphasis on patient-centered, evidence-based nursing care. Students will examine the unique and evolving needs of individualsand their families—beyond the diagnosis—while considering the broader impact on communities, healthcare providers, and the healthcaresystem. The course highlights interdisciplinary collaboration, ethical principles, and strategies to enhance quality of life and provide compassionate care for those with chronic and serious illnesses.
