Catalog description
This course is meant for students with opportunities working over the course of the semester/summer whose employers require a credit as condition of employment. To be considered for a CPT, the position must be related to your major field of study. Offer letters must be written on letterhead and include: (1) job title and brief description of responsibilities, (2) start and end date to coincide with the academic semester (3) number of hours you will work each week. Please note that only part-time work (20 hours or less) will be approved for the spring and fall semesters. By participating in Curriculum Practical Training, the student understands that: 1) they will be registered in a 1-credit CPT course at the regular tuition rate, 2) the credit will not count toward graduation requirements and 3) the student is required to submit a paper describing their work responsibilities and what skills were acquired by participating. Instructor will provide specific details on this requirement. Students must have completed two semesters of study to be eligible for a CPT Grade is Pass/Fail. May be repeated once. Permission of chair and/or program director required.
