Language Games

Catalog description

This course focuses on the popular and entertaining genre of games generally referred to as "word games" or "language games." We will explore both online and in-person board games played both individually and with opponents including games such as Wordle, Scrabble, Anagrams, Taboo, Scattegories, Upwords, Connections and others. These games will serve as a springboard to analyze language, language characteristics, language use, language variation, language learning and other linguistic topics.
