Catalog description

In this applied data analysis/econometrics course, students will use Stata and other statistical software (R, Python) to estimate linear regression models using ordinary least squares. As the course progresses, students will learn about problems arising with linear estimation and about techniques for estimating causal models. The course will also cover several non-linear estimation models that have practical applications in research. While the course is primarily focused on cross-sectional data, students will also learn about and work with time-series data, pooled cross-sectional data, and panel data, along with numerous applications from economics and business.
