Biodiversity Internship

Catalog description

Students will learn, through hands-on experience, the procedures involved in the care and maintenance of rare, exotic, and endangered species in a laboratory setting. The course will also include exploration and discussion of topics related to ecology, evolution, and the threats to global biodiversity. Interns will work a minimum of 3 hours weekly for 14 weeks. Completion of 3 internship credits can be used to count as a single upper-division biology elective (group D) course. Permission to take an internship for course credit must be obtained from the faculty mentor, and from the Chair of Biology, prior to beginning the internship.
