Catalog description

Over half of the biomass on earth is in the form of life too small to be seen with unaided eye. This course will emphasize the positive aspects of microorganisms and their role in the everyday events of humans. The course will also look at the negative impact that microbes have on the world around us such as disease and bioterrorism. Students registering for BIO 163 must also register for 163L.
