Catalog description

This interdisciplinary studio course examines how contemporary artists draw inspiration from naturally occurring structures through the exploration of geological patterns, molecular forms, and biomorphic design. Students focus on sculptural processes informed by field observation, site-specific investigation, and hands-on material exploration referencing concepts central to the biological, chemical, and physical sciences. Through lectures, studio practice, and collaborative projects, the course investigates how natural processes such as growth and adaptation can shape spatial exploration and sculptural interpretation of natural forms.
