Catalog description

This introductory course offers a foundation in the field of Illustration, designed to be evenly divided between traditional 2D media and digital illustration. Through hands-on exploration of both analog and digital techniques, students will learn communication-based problem-solving methods that integrate research, concept development, and visual storytelling. Emphasis is placed on both conceptual thinking and technical execution, with a focus on objective visual perception, clarity in drawing, and technical proficiency. The course introduces conceptual strategies available to the visual artist, highlighting the critical relationship between text and image and exploring creative approaches to transforming abstract ideas into compelling visual form.
