Catalog description

This seminar is designed to support the leadership development of college women that are scholars or fellows in the McNulty Program for Leadership in Science and Mathematics. Through a combination of reflection, discussion, and experiential learning, students will explore the foundations of effective leadership, beginning with self-knowledge—understanding personal values, strengths, and motivations—and extending to the cultivation of strong interpersonal relationships. Participants will examine how leadership grows from self-awareness and how collaboration, communication, and empathy enhance the ability to lead teams, mentor peers, and navigate professional environments. The course emphasizes building confidence, resilience, and a supportive community of women leaders in STEM.
