Saint Joseph’s University Basic Behavior Analysis (i.e., ABA 600 ) is part of a Verified Course Sequence and is designed to prepare students for the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) examination, providing both the academic foundation required for certification and the applied knowledge and skills essential for professional practice. Course content includes an in-depth introduction to the foundational concepts, methods, and research that form the basis of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Grounded in the Experimental Analysis of Behavior (EAB), students will examine how basic behavioral principles are discovered, analyzed, and applied to improve socially significant behavior. Emphasis will be placed on understanding experimental design, interpreting data, and connecting laboratory findings to real-world applications in ABA and behavior therapy.
